New Fabric Collection from Joel Dewberry

BUNGALOW!!

The bungalow shapes are hand appliqued onto a linen fabric.

The quilt is 20 total blocks and there are no borders

Cami Cress at All About Quilting & Design did the very modern quilting.

Here are three bags I made for the display at Quilt Market.

Bag #1 - Colorway #1
A new bag pattern designed by Anna Graham @ noodlehead.
Great hidden zipper and big pockets inside.
Funny how the flip flops in the dollar section at Target
are perfect color coordinates!
The linen is used again for the side gussets and straps.

Bag #2 - Colorway #2
The Mix-It-Up Bag
Just a quick design I threw together using two fabrics.
I wanted it to be a nice size tote for market or crafts.
I did some light machine quilting on the sides.

Bag #3 - Colorway #3
241 Bag designed by Anna Graham @ noodlehead

Be sure to check out this awesome pattern on Anna's noodlehead blog.
Available for sale as a PDF pattern
and the most detailed pattern I have ever worked with!
Linen is again used for the side pockets.
Really awesome!

A Happy Birthday to MY Husband!!

The birthday boy on the big day - last Saturday!!

Alison came out to go shooting with her dad
and Webster came out to stay with Grandma!

We shared three cupcakes for the occasion.

Coconut Cream Pie, Banana Pistachio, and Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel!!

And, yes, he got the Harry Carey Cubs shirt for his birthday!!!

We went to the movie 42 and stopped at The Ritz Club for a burger and a beer.

A great birthday, indeed!

Quilts and More

On newsstands today is the new issue of
Quilts and More.

My table runner design is on the cover and the original table runner I submitted is in the magazine with complete instructions.

It is shown below and is called Lemon Twist.

How fun is that?!?

Fowl Play

I have been busy creating this week-end with a fabric line
that is being reprinted by Free Spirit Fabrics -
FOWL PLAY!!!

The quilt had already been designed.

I will send it out to be quilted
and I think I will have her use the chicken wire design!

Free Spirit wanted some additional items to display with the quilt
so here is what I have made so far.

This is a Skinny Chicken Tracks Runner.
I embroidered the chicken tracks with red floss.
This quilt block pattern is also called chicken tracks.

I made this half apron with pockets.
The clever part is you slip it on a skinny belt.
I made two button holes before turning the top edge down.
There is a sewn section to slide the belt in and on through the buttons holes!
And I am wearing red shoes!

This apron is also worn with a skinny belt.  Buttons adorn the pockets and the top section is a block from the quilt pattern.  The center square is a media pocket!!  And the neck tie is a checkered shoe lace!!

Here is a back view.  No ties!!
The belt just slips though the button holes in the front!!

The apron gathers on the belt and can fit most sizes!

What fun!!  And now I have to finish some stuffed chickens
and a couple of pot holders!!
