Oh HAPPY DAY!!!

Yes, indeed, it is a happy day!

I have completed the Kaffe Fassett

Autumn Hexagon Medallion Quilt!

It is hard for me to photograph because it is 82" x 82".
But I gave it my best shot!

Will I make another one like this ??

Not on your life!

One more quilt on deck, designed by Heather Bailey

It's Time for THE BIG ONE!

I am embarking on a week of making a sample quilt for
Westminster Fabrics
designed by Kaffe Fassett.

It is more detailed and larger than most sample quilts I make.

I am going to post my progress each day.

I have actually been working on the center block for several days!!!!

I have been sewing the English Paper Pieced Hexagons
and now centering them on the cabbage fabric.
Yes, then appliqué them in place on the center square!!!
THere will be a total of seven.

This will be a medallion quilt so I will keep adding rows.
A couple of the rows have detailed piecing.

Stay tuned!!

New York, New York!!

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about new fabrics I had received from
Michael Miller Fabrics.

The quilts are done and I am headed to FedEx!!

Mod Girls - fun borders!!

Quilted from the back - following the hexagon fabric!!

Elephant Romp - awesome machine quilting - little flowers!!

Mod Guys - three projects in one!!

So much fun to take the extra cuts of the ties and cameras
and make a table runner + two placemats!!

Time to hit PRINT on the invoice!!

Stay tuned for the next project.

It is the BIG ONE!!

Girls Just Want to Have FUN!!

I thought I would be blogging about the
Strawn Reunion today but
my husband and I opted not to attend this year.

We have made so many car trips to Iowa and beyond this spring and summer that we decided to stay home.

So it was a perfect SAturday for a girls' day out.

Phyllis came to visit and we went to the

SUMMER SALE

at Bangles in downtown Valparaiso!!

Bags of deals ant tons of fun!!

Lunch at Pick's Tavern topped off a great afternoon.

Then it was a Thelma and Louise kind of evening
when I picked up my friend, Leona.

She broke her knee cap in early May and needed a girls night out!

Dinner and a stop at Brooke's Sizzlin' Summer Dance!!

Girls just want to have fun!!

What is Growing Around YOUR House?

I am most excited about the hollyhocks that are blooming at my house.
I threw some seeds out last year, but NO blooms!
We always had them at our house when I grew up
and look how pretty these are!!!

Nebraska Wedding Tomatoes

Jalapeño Peppers

Coneflowers and Black-Eyed Susan - two of my favorites!

A lovely perennial geranium variety I got a Costco a few years ago.

Lillies.

Hydrangeas.

And, of course, RED geraniums!

The Blueberry Ranch

I picked 10 lbs. of fresh blueberries today in 1 1/2 hours
at the Blueberry Ranch in the South Bend area.

It is the only organic blueberry farm in the midwest.

It is a bumper crop and I just picked blueberries by the handful.

Oh my!

AND, I was interviewed by a South Bend TV station!
We don't get the South Bend news so I may have to track it down online!!

Yesterday I was in Chicago, driving past the Peninsula Hotel, where hundreds of screaming girls were waiting across the street for Justin Bieber!!!!!

What if he had come out just then?????
