The Snowy Day

A Snowy Day always reminds of the children's book by that name
by Ezra Jack Keats.

There was no snow in our forecast today but take a look at this.....

And I am off to Fed Ex to ship this great quilt!
It is the free downloadable pattern at
Amy Butler Designs from her newest collection, Lark.

Rowan Fabrics needed an additional sample
and I got the call!!

Actually, it is a very large log cabin block and is very easy to make.

In fact, I sewed a top for myself - in a little different color combination!

ENJOY!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

I have had a busy day - doing some fun things for Valentines Day!

It was time to hang this quilt with the RED hearts!

This is made from fabrics by Sandy Gervais for Moda.

I love just about any RED fabric!!

AND....my husband sent me flowers!!

This is unusual for him!!

I love to bake and usually make these chocolate heart cookies.

And, yes, they taste as good as they look!

When melting chocolate, I must dip some strawberries.

So, of course, I took cookies and strawberries to our dance class tonight.

And there isn't a better Valentine to give yourself than.....

a new pair of red patent dance shoes!!

To top the day off, I made a heart shaped pizza for my sweetheart -

The crust is the recipe made with cauliflower and is delicious!!

Now it is time to put my feet up and enjoy a glass of red wine!

Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day!

A New Year and a New Quilt!

Making a new quilt for my daughter, Natalie.
She spotted this zig zag quilt on Pinterest and we figured it out form there.

The fabrics are designed by Laura Gunn fro Michael Miller Fabrics.
This is actually half of the quilt - there will be another repeat.

I am thinking of doing this same quilt in another color way for myself.

My husband stapled the flannel side of a flannel backed table cloth to a wall in the garage and it works perfectly as a design wall.

A new year and a time to pay it forward -

A friend of mine has a son-in-law suffering from ALS.
There will be a fundraiser this week-end for him so
I donated this quilt from my stash and the cute carry bag as well
for the silent auction.

Oh, it feels so good to do this!

Quilts Made in 2011

Here are some of my favorite quilts made in 2011.  ENJOY!!

Happy New Year!

My husband and I danced the New Year in at the New Years' Eve Bash
at the Porter County Expo Center.

The biggest surprise of the night was to see my chiropractor,
Dr. Fouts, in the band!  Yes, he is the sax player!!

AND, of course, my friend, Linda, was there - dancing!!

And I even snagged Doc for the Samba Line Dance during a break!

Yes, indeed, we had a rockin' good time, ringing in the New Year!

Looking forward to a lot more ballroom dancing in 2012!
